• General purposes: Establish a solid ground in general non-specialized translation and build a good language repertoire. 

• Targeted Audience:
- University students majoring in English literature or translation, particularly freshmen and sophomores.
- Any person interested in translation and vocabulary building

• Course Rubrics:
- Translation on the sentence level (English –Arabic-English) with the purpose of learning, memorizing, and using in translation a repertoire of vocabularies not less than 250.
- Translating on the sentence level no less than 100 idioms.
-Translating and mastering sentences containing complex structures.
- Translating on the paragraph level general English-Arabic-English passages with specific reference to cohesive devices.
- Legal translation on the sentence level. Exercises will include sentences describing the process of litigation from the very moment a statement of claims if filed until the cassation court decision is issued.
- Legal phrasing on the sentence level.
- Translation of sentences in the lab. Students listen to audio-visual conferences and live meetings and write down interesting sentences for the purposed of translation. 

* Course Fees: 
JD 225 for individuals
JD175 for each university student or for each trainee in case an interested party has sent three trainees and above.

* A JD20 advanced payment must be made on registration*. 

* Registration Period:
Registration is closed on 15/7/2010 except for special cases.

* Certificates: 
All certificates are official and can be legalized up to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Trainees who wish us to legalise their documents are to pay an additional JD5 fee.
